So the uncle called me up and asked could I do a little machine polishing on a 1986 Mercedes 190 he bought. He said he had been doing a bit of work on it and getting it cleaned up. What landed was a nice tidy Mercedes 190, so much so I asked him what he needed me to do with it. The car didn’t appear to need any polishing at all.
I have to say he’s done an amazing job getting this car back life, he’s cleaned the interior and exterior meticulously, the carburetor has been overhauled and all new gaskets, seals and belts fitted.
Have a look down through the images and see what a nice tidy Mercedes 190 looks like, this truly is an excellent example, its like taking step back in time.
That was just a quick glimpse of the condition of this vehicle before I touched it. You might ask “What did he want polishing?”. Well there was just a few light scratches around the body that he wanted to be sanded and polished and also few hologram marks, that you would only see when the sun hit it.
I have to say it was a pleasure to work on and an absolute pleasure to drive. I’m happy to report he will be entering it into some shows over the summer, you can see it at the Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show in Terenure on the 3rd of July.
H has informed me that if he gets the right offer he will sell the vehicle, anyone interested please feel free to drop us a message or approach him and one of the shows.
